How does the procedure work?
Dr. Mitchell determines the appropriate treatment for your skin type, condition and desired results. A thin layer of serum is applied to your skin then Dr. Mitchell uses the pen to begin your treatment. The pen glides across your skin in a gentle motion that is comfortable for most patients. SkinPen II stimulates your skin’s natural ability to produce new collagen and elastin giving you healthier, younger skin.
How long does the procedure take and how many treatments will I need?
Each treatment typically only takes 15-30 minutes. The amount of time depends on the size of your treatment area and the severity of skin damage.
Dr. Mitchell will determine the number of treatments needed based on the health of your skin and the desired results. Most patients receive a series of three treatments spaced four weeks apart. If your skin condition is more severe, additional sessions may be necessary.
What should I expect after treatment and when will I see results?
Following your procedure you will notice that your skin has a healthy pink glow that may last two to four days; however, some patients heal completely in 24 hours. We will recommend products to aid your skin’s natural healing process. Your healing time depends on the severity of your skin damage and the depth of treatment.
Most people notice healthier-looking skin immediately after the procedure and the natural repair process of the skin continues to progress and improve your skin up to six months after your final treatment.
